TYPE OF PROGRAM
The Department of Energy - Energy to Communities (E2C) Expert Match program provides short-term technical assistance by matching communities with energy experts from the National Laboratory of the Rockieswhose work aligns with the community's request. Selected communities receive 40–60 hours of technical assistance over approximately 3–4 months to help address energy questions and support informed community decision-making.
FUNDING DETALS:
Expected number of awards: Up to 200 communities supported annually
Award range: 40–60 hours of technical assistance per engagement
PROJECT GOALS:
Provide communities with targeted technical expertise and analyses to evaluate energy options, address time-sensitive energy challenges, and advance community energy goals.
WHAT CAN YOU USE IT FOR?
Technical assistance related to energy generation, mobility, buildings, and grid transmission and distribution infrastructure.
IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible entities include Alaska Native villages, Alaska Native Corporations, and state recognized Tribes. Expert Match does not provide legal advice, specific policy recommendations, or grant writing assistance, and the start of assistance depends on expert availability.
