WHAT IS IT?
A California state incentive program that funds Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure through the California Energy Commission’s (CEC) Clean Transportation Program.

WHO MANAGES IT?

WHAT CAN YOU USE IT FOR?
Purchase and installation of Level 2 EV charging stations (hardware and software)
Electrical upgrades and panel modifications needed to support charger functionality
Construction and trenching to connect chargers to the power supply
Networking and data systems to enable charger management and public access
Project design, permitting, and utility interconnection costs
Signage and accessibility improvements related to charger installation
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must be the property owner, lessee, or authorized representative and must directly incur the project costs
Project site must be located within California and served by a participating electric utility
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT?
Award Cap: ▪ Tier 1 Projects (Shovel Ready) up to $6,000 per Level 2 connector, maximum total award $500,000 per project site ▪ Tier 2 Projects (Near-Ready) up to $5,000 per Level 2 connector, maximum total award $500,000 per project site
Tribal sites include bonus incentives and can increase the total award amount per connector
Cost Share: 25%
Project Timeline: 12 – 18 months
