TYPE OF PROGRAM
The TEDC Grant Program, managed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), invites proposals from Federally recognized tribal entities to build capacity for managing and regulating energy resources on tribal lands. This program is an opportunity for Tribes to create structures and frameworks essential for maximizing economic impacts from energy development.
AWARDS RANGING FROM $10,000 TO $450,000.

PURPOSE & ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES
TEDC grants aim to equip tribes with the resources and knowledge needed to:
Establish Tribal business entities, utility authorities, or energy offices.
Develop or enhance energy policies, Tribal charters, and legal codes for energy projects.
Conduct feasibility studies for energy resource management or Tribal Utility Authorities (TUA).
Formulate strategies for sustainable energy or fuel management to support long-term Tribal needs.
Rights-of-way related activities are eligible, such as reviewing proposals, negotiating agreements, monitoring compliance, and developing related policies or regulations for energy projects.
