TYPE OF PROGRAM

The Renewable Energy Fund Program supports renewable energy projects throughout Alaska. Funding is available for projects ranging from early-stage planning and feasibility through final design and construction to reduce energy costs and increase the use of renewable energy.


FUNDING DETAILS

Maximum Award:


  • Up to $2 million per project in low-energy-cost areas

  • Up to $4 million per project in high-energy-cost areas


COST SHARE

  • No required match, although matching funds are encouraged and considered during project evaluation


PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • Reduce energy costs

  • Increase renewable energy generation

  • Reduce reliance on fossil fuels

  • Improve long-term energy reliability

  • Support technically and economically viable renewable energy projects
