TYPE OF PROGRAM

The ENERGYWERX: iCRSD – i2X Interconnection Cost Reduction Solutions for Distribution Program supports the development, demonstration, and scaling of innovative tools, technologies, and process improvements that enable faster and more equitable deployment of distributed energy resources (DERs), including solar, energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, microgrids, and flexible load.

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Interconnection Innovation eXchange (i2X), administered in partnership with ENERGYWERX.

WHAT CAN YOU USE IT FOR?

• Pilot new interconnection solutions on distribution grids

• Increase data access and transparency for interconnections

• Streamline and speed up interconnection services

• Reduce overall interconnection costs and delays

• Demonstrate methods to make interconnection simpler, faster, and more affordable

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Federally recognized Tribes

• A focus on distribution-level interconnection, clean energy deployment, or grid modernization

• Ability to pilot, demonstrate, or scale innovative solutions with internal capacity or a qualified partner/vendor

• Project Timeline: 2 years
